1-Ton Built STRONG

Seen in Whole Foods' parking lot - a lovable but beaten up white van with the following legend inscribed forlornly on the side windows:

"1-TON $2,250 BUILT STRONG REBUILT ENGINE TRANSMISSION"

Bless them. They cared for that van. Now if only I had 2 bags of sand...

¡Es BUEEEEEEEEEEENO!

¡Es Bueeeeeeeeeeeno! ¡Recicle Correctamente!

Now, I'm not a linguist, but I can smell a real adverb at 50 paces. How come Spanish-speakers get more respect from the people in charge of processing solid waste? This really tickled me!

The Anonymous TIPSTER

An anonymous tipster has alerted me to a flyer carelessly sent to thousands of unsuspecting Texans by no less than the City of Austin Solid Waste Services Department.

A fine institution, but they have no respect for grammar. As they say "When in doubt, set it out!". And this is what they printed in bold letters:

"It's gooooooooood! Recycle Right!"

Apparently newspaper, magazines and junk mail should be put into a PAPER bag or a separate recycling bin. On the other hand, greeting cards, tissue paper and plastic items which are not bottles (which have necks smaller than the bottom) should not be recycled. That would be recycling wrong y'all.
